Events Framework - Overview of Webhooks Manager

Large restaurant brands and almost all retailers have various business systems/clouds in their enterprise visualization (CRM, marketing, eCommerce, analytics, ERP, etc.)  rather than one system serving all of their business needs.

Such brands also tend to use the best-of-breed software in their enterprise –- for loyalty and offers, they would choose Punchh.

Note: Contact your Punchh representative if you are interested in using the events framework with your Punchh implementation.

Use Case Supported

1. It allows brands to get information about events happening in real-time so that action can be taken within the same application or a different application.

  • An event can carry payload/attributes, so the consumer of the event can inspect the payload and take more effective action.
  • The target system can query the event publication system to get more information based on the event.

2. Brands want to use Punchh for loyalty/offers, and marketing clouds for outbound emails, SMS, and push notifications.

  • If a guest signs up, a brand would want to send a welcome email to the user via a marketing cloud.
  • If a guest earns a reward, the brand would want to send the user a notification. If the notification is not sent from Punchh, then a message must be sent to the marketing cloud so that it can send the notification to the guest.

3. Analytics/BI/AI want/need all of the data they can get for better analysis. Brands want such systems to get real-time information from every system, including loyalty apps.

4. Some CDPs consume not only guest data, but other types of events as well, to provide richer segmentation to their clients.

5. Brands want to get information for business-level events, such as creating/updating redeemables.
